I've spent the better part of a decade working in the joinery industry, managing complex residential and commercial projects. With a background in Design Computing, I've always had an interest in how technology intersects with the trade — from CAD and 3D modelling through to digital tools and automation. Outside of work, I design and make things — furniture, objects, the occasional digital tool.
Experience
Independent joinery drafting, working with fabricators, architects, and designers on residential and commercial projects.
I joined Fine Earth Joinery as a junior draftsperson and progressed to a senior management role over nearly a decade. I worked across a broad range of residential and commercial joinery projects — kitchens, wardrobes, bathrooms, studies, bars, and custom furniture — producing shop drawings, client approval documentation, and CNC-ready output. In later years I took on estimating responsibilities, helped develop production workflows, and coordinated with architects, builders, and site teams.

Education
I completed a Bachelor of Design Computing at the University of Sydney, a degree that sits somewhere between design, technology, and problem-solving. It covered a mix of digital design, 3D modelling, coding, and systems thinking, with a focus on how things are designed, built, and used in practice. While fairly broad, it gave me a solid foundation in working digitally and thinking through design problems, which has carried through into my work in joinery and production.
I completed a Statement of Attainment in CAD for Building Design at TAFE NSW, using ArchiCAD to produce technical drawings for small residential projects. It covered core drafting standards, documentation, and the fundamentals of building-focused CAD work.
